Photograph an appliance's data plate. Copestone reads the model and serial off it, files them, works out what that machine needs and when, finds its manual, and watches the recall database on its behalf.
Why it exists
Everything you need at the worst moment is behind the machine that broke.
The model number is on a plate you can't reach. The receipt proving it's still under warranty is in an email from four years ago. The manual is a PDF on a site that wants your address. And you're finding all this out while standing in two inches of water.
Copestone asks you to spend ten minutes photographing data plates on a quiet Sunday, so that none of the above is a problem later.
What it does

Photograph the plate, and the form fills itself
Point the camera at the sticker on the back of the machine. Copestone reads it, pulls out the brand, model and serial, and files them against the appliance — no typing a twelve-character model number off a badly-lit label.
The text recognition runs on your device, and on Apple Intelligence hardware a language model helps sort the fields. Everything it extracts is checked back against the text actually read from the plate, so a value it fills in has to appear there — and you can correct any field by hand before saving. On phones without Apple Intelligence, pattern matching handles it and the feature still works.
A maintenance schedule you didn't have to write
Once Copestone knows what you own, it knows what those things need. HVAC filters every three months, refrigerator coils every six, the dishwasher descaled quarterly, smoke detectors tested monthly — each task dated, recurring, and attached to the appliance it belongs to.

It reads the manual so you don't have to
Copestone has an in-app browser for tracking down an owner's manual; when you download one, it intercepts the PDF and attaches it to the appliance. From then on, "the dishwasher won't drain" gets answered against that specific manual and that specific model, on your phone.
Diagnosis runs on-device through Apple Intelligence, grounded in the appliance's details and the manual you attached — nothing is sent anywhere for it. Past diagnoses are kept and inform later ones. It's a starting point for troubleshooting, not a substitute for a qualified engineer on anything involving gas, water or mains electricity.
Recall checks, and a packet for the insurer
Copestone checks your appliances against the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission's recall database and tells you whether a notice matches your exact model number or only the brand and category — a distinction most recall alerts don't bother making.
And because the worst day to start documenting a house is after a fire, Complete builds an insurance packet: total valuation, room-by-room inventory, each item's serial, age and warranty, with the actual receipts and photos embedded so you hand over one self-contained PDF.

Built into the phone
Findable from the home screen, before you open the app.
Copestone indexes your appliances and their specs into Spotlight, so typing "furnace filter" on the home screen jumps straight to the right record. Ask Siri to diagnose a problem and it opens with that appliance already in hand. A widget keeps what is due next on your home screen.
Your properties, appliances, manuals, receipts and photos sync through your own iCloud, so the inventory you built on your phone is on your iPad when you are sitting down with an insurer.
Recall checks query the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission's public database using your appliance's brand and model, and the manual finder is a web browser. Everything else, including the on-device intelligence, runs on your phone. Treat a recall result as a prompt to check the manufacturer's own notice, and call a qualified engineer for anything involving gas, water or mains electricity — the policies have the detail.

Copestone needs iOS 26 because its scanning and diagnosis are built on Apple's on-device foundation models, which don't exist on earlier versions. Fault diagnosis additionally needs a device with Apple Intelligence; everything else runs on any iPhone that can install the app.
